Do you like Nasty Tech House? If you do make sure to catch Mihalis Safras this Friday at EDC Las Vegas at the Neon Garden from 8pm to 9pm. Get to know him with us!
Can't wait for your EDC set! Are you dropping any new music?
Funnily enough you caught me in the middle of finishing a couple of new tunes that are about to be tested. I have a few collabs with Green Velvet, Prok & Fitch and of course some solo stuff I need to test. Lots of new music so I'm very excited about seeing how people react as that's one of the best parts of being a musician.
What does your creative process look like?
At the moment I really feel like I'm living my best days in terms or creativity and production. The last year or so has been incredibly productive, and everything has just flowed very naturally in the studio. There are some huge releases coming up plus some under a new alias I'm staring. That says it all.
What music did you grow up listening to?
For some reason, I never liked tracks with lyrics. So basically I started with breakbeat and drum and bass back in 1990, which gradually evolved to techno and house... and here we are! Now I don't mind lyrics, as long as they're used properly!
When did music become more than a hobby for you?
It was never a hobby, and I still wouldn't really define it as a hobby, nor a job. It's just something I love doing. I will never stop creating beats and music. It's like eating for me, and know that I'm a fat man ;)
In three words how would you describe your music style?
Nasty Tech House.
Do you have any non EDM inspirations or artist you look up to?
Inspiration comes from all round, usually not other artists to be honest. But I have to say that working so much with Green Velvet has been amongst the most inspiring experiences of my life. He is an amazing artist and friend. Is he EDM or not - I'm not sure that's for you to say!
How would you describe your fans?
Fans in general seem to be carried away with the 'thing of the moment'. My fans are like me, devoted warriors to the cause.
Looking through the rest of the year, what are some things you are most looking forward to?
Playing at EDC is a highlight so I'm looking forward to that, but all in all playing so many LaLa Land stages this year is something that makes me happy.
