Chicago, native J. Worra aka Jamie Sitter has always been drawn to different genres of music. She is known for catchy tunes such as “Modern Medicine” and “Ride or Cry” and has a killer bad-ass attitude to along with it. Some of her biggest influences are Green Velvet, Gene Farris, Chris Lake, and Billy Kenny.
When asked about how she wants to impact the music industry she said, "I want to change the tone, I want to show what women are capable of, and what hard work and being true looks like, and above all I want to impact peoples lives in a positive way."
DJ/producer J. Worra has also released her newest single “On The Run” featuring Kaleena Zanders, and co-written with Venessa Michaels. The single saw its worldwide premiere on KCRW (March 12) on Travis Holcombe’s late night show and will be followed by the project's fully-sponsored by WAV official music video later this month. You can hear the single live at the Knitting Factory at J. Worra’s performance on Saturday, March 30th.
