Only 5 days until bass-heads rejoice for Shaky Beats Music Festival. Taking place on May 11th-13th at the beautiful Central Park in Atlanta, Georgia. Returning for its third installment - Shaky Beats’ lineup is packed with some of the biggest names in dance music. The Electric Vibes team put together a list of the Top 5 Artists to see at Shaky Beats Festival.
Space Jesus, the name conjures all sorts of astronomical Supreme Being manifestations. Brooklyn-based and the sound itself is a wonky smorgasbord of bass. He explores the electronic auditory universe in search of lower frequencies, future feels, and fire beats. Space Jesus will close out the night on Friday, May 11th at the Criminal Records Stage.
Dirtybird’s Will Clarke is a generator of exciting fresh talent in all aspects of art. The fact that the bearded booty-cuddling machine, Will Clarke, is from this part of the world is no surprise to anyone. Known for is corky and groovy beats such as Big Booty, The Goog, Can You Funk, and Give It To Me and famous for his The Barber Shop podcast. Will Clarke will be performing on Sunday, May 13th at the Piedmont Stage.
Hayden Capuozzo, better known by his stage name KAYZO is an American DJ and producer based in LA. He is best known for remixing songs and incorporating trap and hardstyle into his remixes and sets. His collaboration with RIOT Wake Up received more than 200,000 plays in less than 24 hours. KAYZO will take over the decks on Sunday, May 13th at the Piedmont Stage.
Shiba San is essential to the house and techno scene. Having an impressive last year with a heavy complication release on his own Basement Leak label featuring his standout tune ‘Drop It’. As well as collaborating with heavyweights such as Will Clarke, Green Velvet, and Lee Foss. Releasing other original singles on huge labels such as Relief Records and Dirtybird. His most recent release is Off The Funk EP. Shiba San will bring his funky Chicago style hip/hop-house vibes to the Criminal Records Stage on Saturday, May 12th.
Robert Balotsky also known as BUKU, combines monodies, with intricate drum patterns. with a menacing grasp on sound design and music theory. His debut EP release, Janky launched into the Bass and Dubstep scene and quickly gained support by Diplo and other heavyweight bass artists. He has quickly placed himself at the forefront of rising talent amongst North American producers – an impressive track record only further supported by his latest EP, No Dramas, released through the dominant Dutch dance music purveyor, Spinnin’ Records. BUKU will perform at the Ponce de Leon Stage on Friday, May 11th.
Catch all of these talented artists at Shaky Beats Festival this coming weekend. If you haven’t seen one or seen them all it’s highly recommended that festival goers should attend their performances. Yes, It is difficult to attend every artist but is possible even for a few minutes.
