For more than two decades, Red Bull Music Academy has been a globally recognised, iconic institution for it's work in music development and education. Through parties, events and it's esteemed Academy programme working with new artists, RBMA has inspired a generation of industry, and now they are set to head to Lisbon. On April 4th and 5th, RBMA lands at Lisboa Electrónica with four lectures that will combine stories and histories, secrets and strategies from key players within the culture scene.
The conversations take place at Capitólio Theatre in the heart of Lisbon, in the historical Parque Mayer.
DAY ONE - 4th APRIL - Capitólio Theatre
On the first day, two legends and pioneers take a seat on the RBMA couch - we'll hear from Carlos Maria Trindade, member of the iconic bands Corpo Diplomátivo, Madredeus and Heróis do Mar. Trindade recorded the classic Mr. Wollogallu, an album that was recently reissued to praise from international publications like Pitchfork. Later in the day, the audience will hear from Mike Grinser, responsible mastering at one of the world's most influential studios: Dubplates and Mastering.
DAY TWO - 5th APRIL - Capitólio Theatre
Day Two sees another two lectures, one at 2pm, and another 5pm. This day welcomes Dutch DJ, Serge, who founded one of the most respected labels in the electronic universe: Clone Records. And finally, at 5pm on April 5th, Rui Vargas steps up - one of the biggest electronic music ambassadors in national territory. Speaking at 2pm, the DJ and radio host will discuss his 30-year career and his role as art director at Lux Frágil, one of the biggest clubs in Europe. Also on board is Carlos Maria Trindade, member of the iconic bands Corpo Diplomátivo, Madredeus and Heróis do Mar. Trindade recorded the classic Mr. Wollogallu, an album that was recently reissued to praise from international publications like Pitchfork. Following each conversation, the Academy will open the floor to questions or comments from the audience.
These lectures will run as part of Lisboa Electrónica Musiculture's wider series.
