Picture the good ole days, when sundrenched hours flew by filled with outdoor adventures, life was no more complicated than trying to win at dodgeball or finding a new friend to sneak off with after dark. Yep, Summer Camp was pretty epic, but if only there had been house music...
This October DIRTYBIRD Campout returns for its third installment with a new and improved home in Central California. It's a singular experience delivering three days of nostalgia inducing activities, soundtracked by some of the world's most cutting edge DJs and live acts, all curated by Head Counselor and DIRTYBIRD boss man Claude VonStroke.
Today, VonStroke revealed those who will be joining him in October at Campout, turning late nights into early mornings at the after-hours stage and programming those sun filled afternoons at the Birdhouse. Extended hours on Campout's new second stage allowed Vonstroke to fashion the festival's largest lineup yet, featuring the very best in contemporary house and techno, hip-hop and off kilter beatmakers, alongside all of the faves from the DIRTYBIRD label family.
Joining the flock in 2017 will be Motor City techno icon Matthew Dear, the envelope pushing electronica of Danny Daze, a showcase from LA's Soulection crew, a raucous tech-house session from the party starting Desert Hearts, unique live emotive dancefloor fun from dOP, a FK A Genre takeover with Netsky, Mija, and Ryan Forever, plus a standout set from iconic electro hip-hop star Egyptian Lover. Drum n bass will be repped hard with Dj Marky, Manchester's Madam X will bring her grime stylings, with the UK also repped by Benji B. Live trap smith araabMuzik, deeper shades of house from Jesse Rose, Lauren Lane, Cut Snake and Amtrac and Detroit's Mike Servito are just a few of the other highlights.
Add to this the core of DIRTYBIRD including Justin Martin, Walker & Royce, Christian Martin, Kill Frenzy, J.Phlip, Sacha Robotti, Shiba San, Eats Everything, Will Clarke, Worthy, Ardalan, and you have one hell of a Campout.
Even though it might be tempting to not leave the dancefloor, it's Campout's off-dancefloor activities that make it so unique – from archery with J.Phlip, to volleyball with Ardalan, sack racing with Christian Martin, arts and crafts with Worthy, dodgeball with Kill Frenzy, Justin Martin's Wheel of Pizza Party or catching VonStroke cracking up at the late night comedy stage - at DIRTYBIRD Campout it's essential to join a color team for the weekend and jump headfirst into the camp spirit. That Iron Bird Championship won't win itself.
Claude scouted high and low for 2017's new location, when he finally found sanctuary in the expansive hills of the San Antonio Campgrounds he knew instantly this land would be rightfully deemed "campout territory." Located in Bradley, CA, Dirtybird Campout will be positioned right in the middle of San Francisco and Los Angeles making it easier for our northern campers to trek down.
