People from around the world travel all the way to the Las Vegas Speedway to enter this magical festival where you are the headliner. I had the privilege of attending my first EDC this year, and I can honestly say it is nothing like any other festival I’ve been to.

While the start of my EDC journey was difficult (it took 3-4 hrs for my friends and I to enter the speedway day 1), it was a weekend I will never forget. As I walked in the Las Vegas Speedway I saw vivid enchanting lights all around me and I felt compelled to run into the crowd, but not before I stopped to breathe and absorb all the beauty around me. I almost didn’t care that I was getting heat exhaustion before I got into a crowd. This year’s EDC weekend suffered a notorious heat wave from temperatures over 110 degrees in the day and 90 degrees at night.

The best part of EDC is that you can break your neck at the Basspod stage (or stage if you’re Excision) and then get lost in trance at the Quantum Valley. You can also wander alone like I did day two and go on an amazing adventure, all you need is sunscreen, a facemask, hydration pack, kandi, fan and good vibes.

There were a few sets that stood out from the rest. Armin van Buuren's uplifting trance , RL Grime’s genius trap mix , Porter Robinson's emotional roller coaster and Ghastly’s effortless genre blending.

Whoever you are, wherever you're from you're welcomed here.
